Many times non-profit organizations ask us what they can do as a fundraiser to help support their cause and provide a Royal Restroom experience to the guests at large events. One such example of a non-profit we have worked with for two years now is Goodwill in Savannah.
St. Patrick's Day brings over 400,000 people to Savannah, the corporate headquarters of Royal Restrooms. St. Patrick's Day is not a one day festival but days of green as far as the eye can see. With that many people in town for the festivities, bathrooms are always at a premium.Working with Goodwill Industries of the Coastal Empire, Royal Restrooms provided portable restrooms for the Irish and honorary Irish alike for the 2008 and 2009 celebrations, centering on historic River Street.
People who wished to enjoy a clean luxurious restroom were able to buy a hand stamp for $5 which was good for the entire day. Proceeds from the hand stamp sales benefit Goodwill Industries and its numerous programs.
Goodwill provided volunteers to man the restrooms, Royal Restrooms provided staff to help trouble shoot and our guests were trilled with the idea of having a clean restroom to use for the day for one price which helps a local charity.
Because all Royal Restrooms’ units have sinks with running water, flushing porcelain toilets, hand soap and premium paper products, stylish décor, and even air conditioning and heat. This means that no visitor to Savannah was forced to use a portapotty, a dirty bar bathroom or to take their children "behind a tree", which, by the way is illegal in our fair city.
“We appreciate the opportunity to partner again with a premier company such as Royal Restrooms that is committed to our community and supports Goodwill Industries mission to assist people with disabilities and other barriers to employment to live independently and become employed.” says, Bill Oakley, President/CEO, Goodwill Industries of the Coastal Empire.
Goodwill Industries of the Coastal Empire, Inc. provides job training, employment services, job placement opportunities and post employment support to strengthen communities and families by training people to become independent, tax-paying members of society. Those services include ADVANCE, a community re-entry program for people with acquired brain injury. When someone is having a hard time finding a job– either because of a disability, poverty or lack of experience–Goodwill is there to help.
